- Our drummer plays with an electronic kit. Most bands are too loud because they’re trying to hear themselves over the drums. Our drummer and sound professional work together to get the appropriate volume for the space/time of day.
Meet the band:
Brian
Lead Singer
Brian, a born-and-raised Tampa native, is the founder of The Southern Creek Band. He’s been playing guitar since his dad taught him the basics when he was 13. Brian’s early influences range from heavy-metal bands like Metallica to true American rock like Tom Petty and country icons like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings.
Phil
Keyboard/Vocals
Phil grew up in Texas and Arkansas. He started playing piano in church when he was 13. During his military service he began playing in country and classic rock bands. His influences are rockabilly, southern rock, and traditional country legends like Merle Haggard, George Jones and Hank Williams (Sr and Jr).
Wally
Bass
Wally Gubbins…Born during the British Invasion, raised on Motown, educated at Woodstock, caught disco fever but recovered. Wally’s done it all from FireSign Theater to CBGB’s.
Darrell
Drums/Vocals
Darrell is a Tampa native and veteran of the US Air Force. He started playing drums in an all-original country band while serving in the military. He enjoys most styles of music, but is influenced mainly by ’70s and ’80s country and southern rock.
